Capital of the Agordino at 611 metres, Agordo opens into a basin dominated by Moiazza and the Pale di San Lucano. It has an industrial history that is rare for the mountains: from the Valle Imperina mines to the mining institute founded in 1867, through to the global headquarters of Luxottica and its Museum of Optics. On the square, the church of Santa Maria Nascente is recognisable by its twin bell towers.
The Dolomitissime office in Agordo faces Piazza della Libertà, at the centre of the valley: the reference point for buying, selling and renting across the Agordino.
